Responder readiness
Help meet equipment or readiness needs identified by recipient departments.
When a fire changes a family's life, firefighters are among the people who respond. Fire Safety Community aims to help families prepare and build lasting support for local fire departments.
How to support this missionOur plan is to begin with fire departments in Bergen County, New Jersey, then consider expanding to other communities. We want public safety education and charitable support to reinforce each other.
Before accepting a dollar, this project must confirm its legal collection arrangements, participating recipient departments, payment processing, and how distributions will be documented.
We are not accepting or collecting donations on Fire Safety Community at this time. No fire department has been announced as a confirmed beneficiary or partner.
For now, the most valuable way to support the mission is to learn, practice, and share fire safety with someone you care about.
Share a safety lessonPotential priorities will be identified with participating departments. These are future goals, not claims about projects already funded.
Help meet equipment or readiness needs identified by recipient departments.
Support fire prevention awareness, child-friendly learning, and community training.
Build relationships that help families prepare before an emergency occurs.
"I cannot change what happened when I was 12. But I can choose to help other families prepare today."
Esther Sur experienced the loss of her home in a 2022 fire. At 16, she is turning that experience into education and a plan to support responders.
